Course Description
TECHNICAL WRITING FOR NON-TECHNICAL READERS
Technical experts often have to simplify complex topics so that readers with a non-technical background can understand.
This highly interactive workshop-style course addresses this challenge and gives technical writers the skills and confidence to transform their writing style so they can communicate with clarity, simplicity, brevity and a personal touch.
All courses are tailor-made for the participants and a sample of writing is requested in advance.
During the Writing Clinic session, the trainer works individually on these samples with each participant, to ensure they can successfully apply the techniques they have learnt.

- Write readable reports with greater speed, confidence and effectiveness
- Create documents which are clear and concise
- Understand how to use language to achieve your objectives
- Adapt your writing for different readers

OracleMy main objective was to learn to write more clearly. I can now see how better to avoid confusion – I didn’t realise how much jargon I use. I will focus more on my goal when writing a document in the future. Even though I had already done similar courses, after today I feel better able to plan, write, proofread and edit documents and mails. This course will have a strong impact on my work. Oracle

Danske BankWe ran a Business Writing Skills for Greater Impact course in-house for a number of our people who operate in different functions across the organisation – but all involved in writing to key stakeholders. Everyone benefitted greatly from an exceptionally strong and interactive course. The trainer made the course work not just interesting but also very relevant to everyone’s area – with all of the attendees remaining totally engaged for the entire day. She managed to pull the group together as one team despite the varying levels of competency in the room. Everyone later commented on the value of what they had learnt and on how they will apply this to their daily work. I would highly recommend this course for anyone who needs to learn either new business writing skills or as a valuable refresher. Danske Bank
