SMART OBJECTIVES – SMARTER PERFORMANCE
Goals tell you where you want to go and objectives tell you how to get there. Goals are the destination and objectives are the route map. Are the objectives that you set for individual team members really helping to move your organisation any closer to your destination?
The bad news is that research shows that the objectives that organisations set for individual team members during performance reviews are often so entirely divorced from the organisation’s vision mission and departmental goals as to be meaningless.
The good news is that help is at hand.
SMART Objectives – Smarter Performance is designed to provide practical support to managers and team leaders in setting objectives and in measuring and monitoring their achievement in a focused way.
During this programme we will turn the spotlight on your organisation’s mission and goals and you will learn how to set objectives that will make a lasting difference to the prosperity of your enterprise.
On completion of this course you will:

- Know the pitfalls of poor objective setting
- Be able to establish a ‘clear line of sight’ between your organisation’s mission and goals and individual team members’ objectives

- Know how to set SMART objectives
- Have written a set of sample SMART objectives for your team
- Know how to measure and monitor the achievement of SMART objectives
